JOB DESCRIPTION 
 

We are hiring a Senior Business Analyst to join our project team. You will work alongside other business analysts and report directly to the project manager. Your main tasks will include performing detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes, and performing some user acceptance testing. Working closely with clients to gain an understanding of their business and data needs, ensuring the best possible solution is provided. Collaborating with other team members to further define those functional requirements. You will work closely with product owners and stakeholders to refine vision, develop roadmaps and establish goals. You may also be asked to provide guidance to other business analysts. 


 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Apply structured business architecture approaches to solve complex problems. 

• Independently lead meetings, facilitating discussions, performing interviews with end users and other stakeholders to perform business requirements elicitation and create business requirements documentation. 

• Write requirements as use cases, user stories, functional requirements. 

• Develop business process models and workflow diagrams. 

• Analyze large datasets and integrate business data into business requirements. 

• Elicit business requirements for software development projects following an Agile software development life cycle methodology. 

• Analyze and document “Current” state of a business operation to understand its component parts and their relationship to each other in a system. 

• Develop a future “Target" business process solution.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

​

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work both at the client’s location in Rockville, MD and remote, depending upon contract and client requirements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

​

• Bachelor's degree in business or computer science and a minimum of 7+ years of experience with business operations analysis or systems development, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. 

• Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills. 

• The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions. 

• Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills. 

• Agile Software Development Experience. 

• Detail oriented, analytical and intellectual curiosity. 

• Ability to work independently and with others.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

 

• Experience working in a regulatory environment or for government clients. 

• Experience performing Gap analysis, SWOT analysis, leading dynamic user interface wireframe development, and facilitating business/system roadmap development. 

• Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) or Professional Business Analyst (PBA) certification.
